Action
Are you interested in starting a relationship that engages students and
supports academic achievement? As an Achievement Partner, you can do just
that. Partnerships are mutually beneficial relationships between community
businesses/organizations and schools that enrich learning by sharing knowledge,
time, and resources. Partnership activities are tailored to the needs
and resources of each school and orgaization/business.
Here are just a few things we can do together:

LEAP is your chance to leave a mark on the future. More than 100 businesses
and organizations have joined our effort to bring the community and the
classroom together.
From pet food companies to pizza parlors, civic groups to non-profit organizations, international companies to small businesses, the Lawrence community, through LEAP, seeks to improve the academic and personal growth of local students from early childhood to high school.

We will use the following process to establish your partnership:
1. Build the Foundation
- Select a school with which to partner
- Meet with the business/organization to discuss your mutual needs and resources and partnership activities that may support them
- Identify a lead
contact person plus a team of 2-3 other staff members to work collaboratively
with the business/organization
2. Implementation
- Assess the needs and resources of the organization/business and school
- Establish a partnership agreement that outlines short and long-range goals
- Launch the partnership by introducing the business/organization to the students and staff at the school
3. Continuity
- Develop a system of regular communication regarding intended and actual outcomes of partnership activities
- Meet regularly
with partners to plan and evaluate partnership activities. Many schools
host monthly or quarterly meetings with all partners
4. Evaluation
- Monitor and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of partnership activity on an agreed-upon basis
